Hear from Our Members
“Gives you a sense of well-being, uplifting and raises your spirit”
“I thoroughly enjoy singing with the choir, even though I cannot read music”
“Gets my lungs going and my feet tapping!”
“Singing is good for breathing, good for company, good for mental health”
Singing is good for you!
Studies have shown that when people sing, endorphins and oxytocin are released by the brain which lowers stress and anxiety levels. The release of endorphins gives singers a positive feeling and an energy boost.
Singing with others reduces the feelings of loneliness and depression.
Learning a new skill, engaging with others and performing allows you to believe in yourself and helps with brain health.
Studies have shown that singing can be a powerful way of managing stress, can help relieve pain and can strengthen the immune system and keep us healthy.
So if you were in a choir as a child and want to start again, if you love singing in the shower or in the car, if you want all the gains singing in a choir gives you then South Holland Singers is the place for you. We are always keen to meet new members.
There are no auditions. You do not need to be able to read music (although it is an advantage if you can). You can join any time of the year (we offer a reduced membership fee for the remainder of the year for new members who join the choir in January)
We have a 'Come and Sing Session' each January so you can experience what the choir is all about. We also offer the first 3 sessions for free if you want a taster during any other time of the year.
So what's stopping you!
